  • Overview

    The Government Pricing Analyst is responsible for performing the day-to-day department activities in support of all federal and state government pricing programs in accordance with West-Ward methodology, including: Medicare Part B (ASP), Medicare Part D (Coverage Gap), the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (PHS), Veteran Affairs (NFAMP, IFF, ANFAMP, FCP), and State Formulary requirements. The Government Pricing Analyst is also responsible for understanding and communicating updates on current government rules and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Calculate, analyze, and validate the required government pricing variables for monthly, quarterly, and annual data submissions to various federal and state government agencies. Analyze data for correct inclusion or exclusion classification in the government pricing calculations.
    • Maintain detailed documentation consistent with approved policy and various state and federal requirements.
    • Update and maintain policies, work instructions and calculation methodology changes due to new regulations or changes in business practices.
    • Accountable for executing, analyzing, documenting and the submission of all mandated product and pricing obligations for the federal and state government pricing programs including: Medicare Part B (ASP), Office of Pharmacy Affairs (PHS), Veteran Affairs (NFAMP, IFF, ANFAMP, FCP), and State Formulary requirements.
    • Researches all new customer and member accounts, and assigns Class of Trade to establish eligibility in GP Calculations.
    • Responsible for all master data management in the government reporting system including; Customer master, product master, contract master, and G/L master.
    • Coordinates new product launch information with regulatory & marketing to ensure data harmonization between FDA & CMS.
    • Maintains GP system methodology and eligibility parameters as required by rules and regulations promulgated by federal and state agencies.
    • Participates in ongoing and timely implementation and maintenance of approved policy, work instructions, or calculation methodology changes due to new regulations or changes in business practices.

     

    Qualifications

    • Ability to prepare reports, memos, business correspondence, standard operating procedures and work instructions.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
    • Detailed oriented and organized.
    • Ability to problem solve and focus on accuracy.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
      • Proficient computer skills in MS Excel, Word, Power Point and SAP.
      • Two to four years business experience preferred.
      • Pharmaceutical or government pricing experience a plus.
