  • Overview

    Operate, Maintain and is fully responsible for the Analytcial Reserch Spectroscopy instrumentation. Develop and Validate Spectroscopy methods for both API and Finish product testing. Responsibilities primarily involve working in the lab with minimal guidance.

    Responsibilities

    1. Operates, maintains and is responsible for Spectroscopy
    2. Designs and executes routine and non-routine experiments associated with analytical method development and validation for both API and Finished products.
    3. Understands and applies scientific principles and technology, and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
    4. Demonstrates the ability to design novel experiments and to analyze and interpret subsequent experimental results, in support of analytical method development, prevalidation work, formulation studies and process development.
    5. Maintains proper records (notebooks, electronic records, study files, etc.) per relevant policies and procedures.
    6. Assists in the review and approval of co-worker laboratory notebook entries and provides guidance on notebook documentation practices to junior level staff.
    7. Demonstrates proficiency in oral communication and technical writing.
    8. Maintains current technical and safety training.
    9. Understands appropriate regulations and legal requirements as well as company policies and procedures relevant to areas of expertise.

    Qualifications

    • Computer literacy, technical writing, multi-tasking, time management and work prioritization skills are required.
    • Thorough understanding and proficiency in the use of analytical glassware, syringes, pipettes, balances and other instrumentation.
    • In-depth knowledge of lab techniques also required.
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Project planning techniques and use of project planning software, a plus.
    • Advanced level of experience in instrumental analysis, especially HPLC, UPLC,GC, Mass Spec, NMR and ICP-MS.
    • Experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, analytical method development, research, problem-solving, and experimental design.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Capable of maintaining professional demeanor under stress.
    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or closely related field and at least 15 years of pharmaceutical or related laboratory experience, or
    • Master’s degree in chemistry or closely related field with 10 years of pharmaceutical or related laboratory experience, or PhD in chemistry or pharmaceutical science or closely related field and 5 years of pharmaceutical or related laboratory experience.
