  • Overview

    West-Ward Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking talented College Summer Interns for our Columbus, Ohio facility. As an Intern you will establish and maintain meaningful projects in a working environment that will enhance your marketability as well as provide value to the organization through continued networking.   You will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers.

     

    The intern will contribute to the success of Maintenance and Plant Engineering departments by completing a variety of tasks specifically related to operational activities. Tasks include inventory management of maintenance assets, tracking of plant idle time and correlating to maintenance performance, coordinating vendor activities, documenting technical details of the site or specific projects, developing improvement ideas, and helping to implement projects to ensure compliance or enhance overall maintenance/engineering processes. Projects are assigned based on strengths and interests of the intern as well as business needs and requirements.  The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with Maintenance management and various levels of engineering staff.

    Responsibilities

    The intern will develop in-depth knowledge of specific pharmaceutical maintenance and/or engineering processes.  The intern will have the opportunity to prepare, distribute & present project status reports to project team members and senior management.  

    Qualifications

    Preference will be given to students who are incoming juniors or seniors with a cumulative GPA above a 3.0 pursuing a BS/BA in an engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) discipline with an interest in modern continuous improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.).
